EXECELLENT
PROGRAM FOR WOMEN
NASHVILLE,
Tenn. (Jan. 30, 2005) - Saint Thomas Hospital should be congratulated
on its new program “Women of Heart,” which recognizes
that women experience heart disease differently than men and
exhibit different symptoms. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer
of women in Tennessee.
The
program is designed to educate women on heart disease and
motivate them to take care of themselves through educational
seminars, heart-healthy cooking classes and health screenings.
The
hospital has also introduced a “SmartCard” in
conjunction with the program that will allow all of a patient’s
medical history, personal and insurance information to be
encoded on a card to allow faster registration and easily
accessed medical information.
Many
hospitals in Nashville are now offering special programs and
services for women. We applaud their efforts to ensure that
all Tennesseans get the excellent care that the medical community
in Middle Tennessee provides.
